After studying sculpture at Chelsea Art School in the 60's I became involved in prop making for films and TV and the National Theatre. So my work involved many different crafts and a wide range of materials. "Do not throw anything away-it may come in useful" was a mantra.

My watchmaker grandfather's workshop drawers were filled with a fascinating medley of watchparts, broken jewelry, copper, silver and gold. It seemed a pity that they were hidden away.

I have my own magpie collections that accumulate over time in drawers and boxes which start to form into groups and tell a story. So I bring them into the light of day and make House Charms.
